Inthawichayanon

Phra Chao Inthawichayanon (Thai พระเจ้าอินทวิชยานนท์, died 1897) was King of Chiang Mai and Ruler of Lannathai from 1870 until his death in 1897. His daughter, Princess Dararasmi become King Rama V's Princess Consort. During his reign the ties of the previously independent tributary state with the central government in Bangkok were intensified, culminating in the creation of the Monthon Phayap in 1892, by which Lannathai was formally annexed.
He was concerned about the preservation of the forest in the mountains north of Thailand. He ordered that his remains shall be kept at the highest mountain Doi Luang, which was renamed to Doi Inthanon after his death.
