Horrid Henry

Horrid Henry is the main fictional character in a popular series of children's books by Francesca Simon.

By November, 2006, Horrid Henry had terrorised his parents, teachers, friends, neighbours and even the Queen in seventeen books, most of which had also been released as hugely popular audio books read by actress Miranda Richardson. As of November, 2006, more than six million Horrid Henry books and audio books in twenty languages had been sold worldwide. In May 2006 the Children's ITV Channel announced that an animated TV series based on the Horrid Henry books had been commissioned from Novel Entertainment (see also Fimbles and The Roly Mo Show). This has now started on ITV at 4.00 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and on CITV Saturday morning at 9:40.

Horrid Henry is a troublemaker, bully and prankster since day one. He enjoys tourmenting his younger brother Peter and loves being noisy and reckless. Most of the time, however, he gets his comuppance; brought down by his own actions or getting caught red handed.

Peter is Henry's younger brother. As his name suggests, he's the complete opposite of Henry - kind, helpful and ever so polite. However, this just encourages Henry to tease and bully him for ever waiking minute; and because of this, poor Peter is often the butt of Henry's jokes. Perfect Peter always said "Please" and "Thank you". Peter hated sweets and choclate and loved vegetables. He is also a little prick.

Henry's horrible cousin who does not let him play with his toys is known as Stephen M. Joyce. Henry put revenge on Steve in Horrid Henry's haunted house which was when Steve put revenge on Henry.

Boudica Battle-Axe is Henry's evil teacher who never smiles at her class, her actual name was found out in one of the books when she wrote Henry's parents a letter saying how bad he had been. She always gives Henry the bad school reports.
