Why Platform 9 3/4 as opposed to 9 1/2? Did JKR just think 9 3/4 was funnier???

- I think that is unlikely for two reasons: Firstly, replacing all the lines with maglev track would be too expensive for the ministry, and secondly, as Hermione will tell you, electronic devices don't work in areas of high magic (such as platform 3/4 ?). Even switching to a diesel electric or electric train would cause problems. --njh 23:22, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
