HMAS Jervis Bay (AGT-203) was a passenger-cargo ship built by the State Dockyard at Newcastle, New South Wales as the MV Australian Trader, launched on 17 February 1969 and operated as a ferry in the Bass Strait. The ship was purchased in 1977 by the Royal Australian Navy to replace HMAS Duchess as the fleet training ship and commissioned on 25 August 1977.Jervis Bay also provided logistic transport to the army as required. HMAS Jervis Bay paid off on 18 April 1994 and was sold on 7 December 1994 to a Greek company, which operated the ship as a passenger ferry in the Mediterranean.
