Havergal College

Havergal College (shortform Havergal or HC) is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls in Toronto, Ontario, Canada ().
Founded in 1894 by Ellen Knox and named after Frances Ridley Havergal, the school has many prominent alumni. Havergal College is known for its excellence in education and tradition.
Dr. Susan Ditchburn is Principal. The school currently upholds the motto: “Preparing young women to make a difference in her chosen pursuit by enabling each girl to develop her full intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical potential.” Recently a new advertising campaign was introduced, with the slogan "It's a (Wo)man's world."
The new Athletics Center was opened on September 30, 2006. The new facilities include a fully equipped fitness center, 25m six lane swimming pool, second gymnasium, several health classrooms and additional changing rooms. Students have been waiting for the Athletics Center's opening since the idea was first put forth in 2002.
At Havergal College, the school colours are green and gold and the mascot is the alligator (or Havergator). The student motto for the 2006-2007 academic year is "Celebrate the Challenge!" The school goes from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 and has two buildings; the Junior School and the Upper School. The formal uniform consists of a white blouse with a green and yellow tie, the forest green kilt and knee socks, the forest green blazer, and black oxfords. For grades below grade 5 students wear a forest green tunic instead of the kilt.

- The book The Wives of Bath by Susan Swan and its subsequent movie Lost and Delirious, starring Mischa Barton and Piper Perabo, were loosely based on the author's experience as a boarder in Havergal College.
