Hadoti

Hadoti (हाड़ौती), also known as Hadauti, Hadaoli, or Hadavati, is a region of Rajasthan state in western India. It includes the districts of Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar and Kota, and is bounded on the west by the Mewar region of Rajasthan and on the south by the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh state.
The name of the region is derived from the Hada Rajputs, a branch of the great Chauhan Rajput clan. The Hadas moved into the region in the 12th century. Hada Rao Deva conquered Bundi in 1241 and Kota in 1264. Kota became a separate state in 1579, and Jhalawar a separate state in 1838.
