Gregory W. Carman

Gregory Wright Carman (born January 31, 1937) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from New York.
Carman was born in Farmingdale, New York. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1958 and the University of Virginia School of Law in 1962. He served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1964. He was a member of the Town Board of Oyster Bay, New York from 1972 until 1980. He was elected to Congress in 1980 and represented New York's 3rd congressional district from January 3, 1981 until January 3, 1983. He was confirmed as a judge to the United States Court of International Trade on March 2, 1983 and served as Chief Judge from 1996 until 2003.
