Grays railway station is a railway station located in the town of Grays in the borough and unitary authority of Thurrock in the East of England.
It was opened in 1854 as part of the London Tilbury & Southend Railway. Until the early 1900s the station was known as 'Grays Thurrock'. In February 2005, the station environment was refurbished, in particular the subway linking the platforms, as well as the surrounding highway infrastructure.
[edit] Station Stuctural Upgrade
In January 2006 the footbridge linking either side of the railway was declared unsafe and closed due to structural problems with the supports and bracing, which had to be replaced. The footbridge reopened at the beginning of May 2006.
