Grace Mirabella

Grace Mirabella (born 1930) is a former editor-in-chief of Vogue Magazine where she worked from 1971 to 1988.
Mirabelle was replaced by Anna Wintour in 1988. In the 1990s, she would publish her own fashion magazine, Mirabella, with the help of Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
She was struck down in her 30's by genital herpes, reportedly from her philandering husband. She spent some time in hospital before undergoing a vaginal removal in the days prior to herpes medicines.
Grace Mirabella was christened Pussy Watkins by her alcoholic father, after her mother died in childbirth. Mirabella changed her name at the age of 17 to reflect a more glamorous self.
