Glenn Dale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 12,609 at the 2000 census.

Glenn Dale is located at 38°58′58″N, 76°48′24″W (38.982902, -76.806748)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 19.1 km² (7.4 mi²), all land.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 12,609 people, 4,086 households, and 3,305 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 660.6/km² (1,710.0/mi²). There were 4,165 housing units at an average density of 218.2/km² (564.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 40.38% White, 48.09% African American, 0.25% Native American, 7.80% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.92% from other races, and 2.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.41% of the population.

There were 4,086 households out of which 45.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.6% were married couples living together, 13.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.1% were non-families. 13.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.08 and the average family size was 3.39.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 29.8% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $80,851, and the median income for a family was $85,448. Males had a median income of $53,484 versus $40,450 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $27,920. About 2.6% of families and 4.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.3% of those under age 18 and 9.9% of those age 65 or over.

The character of Glenn Dale is gradually changing from rural hamlet to suburban subdivision. The historic side of Glenn Dale is evident along Bell Station Road, as well as Glenn Dale Hospital. The historic Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis Railroad right of way has been converted to a bike trail extending from Glenn Dale to the Patuxent River. Anne Arundel County officials are working on various segments to extent the trail to Annapolis via Odenton.

The Glenn Dale Citizens Association meets on the third Tuesday each month at the Glenn Dale firehouse. The Association seeks to ensure that development follows the vision of the county master plan.
