"Giving You Up" is an dance–pop song co-written and performed by Australian singer Kylie Minogue for her second greatest hits album, Ultimate Kylie (2004). The song was produced by Brian Higgins and received mixed reviews from music critics. Typical for a Xenomania production and co-write, the song features multiple different sections joined together, rather than the more standard verse/chorus format of pop music. The song was released as the second single from Ultimate Kylie in the spring of 2005 and reached the top ten in Australia and the United Kingdom, where it became Minogue's twenty-ninth top ten single, and the top twenty in Ireland.

The song's music video was directed by Alex & Martin and was filmed in February 2005 in London, England. The video features Minogue as a tall (oversized), vampy, blonde bombshell giantess roaming around the streets and clubs at night in London. She is dressed in black with a leather jacket and tight spandex-like pants. There are three sequences; the first features Minogue walking through a tunnel or Parking garage(actually the road tunnel under the Barbican Estate in central London), the second of her walking through the streets and the third of her in a club. Throughout the video Minogue meets different people. In a sequence on the streets, she dances in front of a taxi cab that has stopped for a red light. Minogue then heads to a club where she meets a shy man who is obviously interested in her. In another scene on the streets Minogue walks past three men, turns around and begins to dance and sing to the them. Also on the streets, she walks past a man on a cell phone, but shows no interest in him. Every meeting is split up with solo scenes of Minogue walking through the streets and tunnel by herself. The video ends with additional scenes from the club intertwined with the ones from the street and tunnel.

On March 28, 2005, "Giving You Up" was released in the United Kingdom. The song became Minogue's twenty-ninth top ten single when it debuted at number six on the singles chart. The single spent a total of eight weeks in the top seventy-five and became Minogue's second consecutive release to reach the top five on the UK radio airplay charts, peaking at number three.

Outside the UK, the song was also successful. It reached the top ten in Hong Kong, Israel, Hungary, Spain and the Ukraine. In Australia, it was released on April 11, 2005 and debuted at number eight on the singles chart. The song became Minogue's third consecutive release to miss the top five in her native country of Australia. In Germany, "Giving You Up" reached the top-thirty, backed by its inclusion on the trailers for the American television series Desperate Housewives on the television channel ProSieben.

"Made of Glass" was one of the tracks that Minogue recorded with Xenomania for her greatest hits album "Ultimate Kylie". The song, when first requested as a B-side, was denied because Minogue's co-writers thought the song was more than just a B-side and offered it to British pop-singer Rachel Stevens to record, but it was instead released by Minogue as it was originally intended. In 2004 a one minute clip of the song leaked onto the internet. This clip was then followed by a full, less polished version of the song. In Australia, "Made of Glass" was released as a double A-side along with "Giving You Up" due to the airplay it was receiving.
