Gaheris is a fan of science fiction films, games, novels and television shows. He has been a Star Trek fan since watching the premiere of The Original Series in 1966, found 2001: A Space Odyssey to be his favorite film since seeing it in a movie theater on his tenth birthday, read the books of Isaac Asimov and Robert A. Heinlein while they were still alive, wrote cartoons for a fan newsletter put out by Gene Roddenberry's assistant, Susan Sackett, and had dinner in the home of Harlan Ellison.
