Front Mission 2 is a tactical RPG for the Sony PlayStation developed by Square Co., Ltd. and released in Japan. It is the second game in the core Front Mission storyline.

This release in the series was infamous for its absurd loading time, causing a player to wait upwards of 20 seconds for a battle animation to begin, something which could happen nearly a hundred times in a battle. This is thought to be one of the possible reasons for never having received a localization. ^{[citation needed]}

2005 A.D. The unification of Europe as the EC (European Commonwealth).
2020 A.D. USN (United States of the New Continent) is established. North America and South America become one nation.
2026 A.D. Asian countries establish the OCU (Oceania Community Union), aiming at economic independence.
2070 A.D. Huffman Dispute I
2090 A.D. Huffman Dispute II
2094 A.D. People's Republic of Bangladesh is formally affiliated with OCU. The country changes its name to "People's Republic of Alordesh."
2102 A.D. The People's Republic of Alordesh is poverty-stricken. Lamenting the fatherland's sad plight, the army's soldiers have revolted. They declare their independence from OCU, taking on the name "The Revolutionary Army." An OCU soldier, Ash Faruk, and his companions encounter the Revolutionary Army's attack, and escape fighting a fierce battle, but the Revolutionary Army completely brings the interior of the country under its control. The heroes slip into the chaotic Alordesh Underground, and plan on escaping the Republic. However, they soon find out the existence of a giant conspiracy on the other side of the coup d'etat.
