This page was initially created by User:Fortunelounge and was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fortune Lounge Group as "advertising". It was then recreated with entirely different content and speedy deletion. As such, a request for deletion review was filed, with the consensus being that the topic was notable, and that if an article could be created which did not come across as blatant advertising and conformed to the neutral point of view, then it could be included. Therefore, I created this as a sub page in my user space at User:Zordrac/Fortuneloungegroup until it was approved by administrators. This has now happened.
Some issues:
- Wikipedia's spam filter prohibits "on line casinos" in the text and hence links to important articles cannot be included in Wikipedia. I have included these words in broken up nowiki format so that when the spam filter is adjusted (hopefully) they can be reincluded. I am seeking advice whether they can be deleted or what to do with them. Removing them makes some information unverified, which is not ideal. Removing said information presents an unbalanced POV of the article.
- The issue of spamming is a current event, and hence the current event tag has been added. This is a major issue.
- The "Awards" section lists major awards where Fortune Lounge Group was voted as the best casino in the world by a major watch dog body. This should not be considered to be advertising.
- All efforts were made to make this conform to NPOV, however it should be said that online casinos tend to engage in a lot of advertising and factual content is difficult to weed out. For example, I could not find anywhere that said when they started or who runs the group or anything like that.
- For the moment, content of previous articles has not been included. However, this can be readded at a later date, so long as the current content remains as well, and it is not done in an advertising way.
I wrote this so as to help a newbie. In my opinion, deleting a notable subject because of the way that it is written (as advertising) is not appropriate. It simply should have been rewritten. Fortune Lounge Group is the largest online casino in the world, which has been verified, and this makes them notable enough for Wikipedia. They have a second claim to notoriety, with regards to the recent spamming controversy. Thus their encyclopaedic value is important. Hi Actually the only reason why I tried to delete the information under the spam section of the article as it is inaccurate and providing time-sensitive false information is neither in the best interests of the wiki or our page.
When Zordrac created this new article, some of his links were incorrect and that has led us to believe that his keywords research for our site came up with a www.fortuneloungegroup.com web address that does not in fact exist.
www.online-casinos.com is under the maintenance of Jan Balslev, and the site is part of the InterCasino/Casino Tropaz online operators. I do not know where they got their information from or what game they're trying to play at, but their article is unsubstantiated and alleged rumor by the look of things.
We're not looking to cause a stir, but do not want this wiki page to be the start of a smear campaign either as it does add significant encyclopedic and research value to this entry . Apologies for givng you the impression that we were trying to cover up some negative press, but we are actually about transparency and like to be held accountable for our decisions.

2005, I am trying to keep these articles from being advertisements for the online casinos. I removed the external link as I don't see any reason to have links to multiple webpages by the same online company. Their players club is not really seperate from their main online casino page, no one who wasn't already a member of the online casino would have any interest in the players club, why have a link to it here? As for the awards section, every one of the larger and medium sized online casinos has won these awards. So many are given out each year that every decent sized casino is bound to win something. I believe this is just a method of cross promotion between the magazine (and others who offer the same type of awards) and the casinos. Note that virtually every link to "gambling online magazine" in a google search is a casino mentioning the awards that they won from them. Note that the online casinos which won the awards all advertise on gambling online magazine's website. --Xyzzyplugh 21:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- You are wrong that no one not a member of the site wouldn't be interested in the forum. Obviously anyone interested in joining the site would be wise to check out the players forum first, and also media entities would be primarily interested in that since that is where you can learn much more about the site than anywhere else. I'll leave that deleted though since you can likely easily find it via the existing link. It's plainly false that every site has won industry awards and wholly irrelevant too, as is your pov of its cross promotion or whatever. Industry awards are completely appropriate for such an article and obviously are not pov. Please don't remove them again. 2005 09:14, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
