[edit] Deletion

No problems. I also noticed my own talk page within the deletion pile. An honest mistake I know :) -- Longhair 01:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I doubt it would have been deleted, but who knows. Crazier things happen. :) -- Longhair 02:00, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh sorry I must have overlooked your request amidst some vandal fighting. You'd like your actual user page deleted and returned to a red link? Once you confirm I'll delete it as requested.. -- Longhair 03:45, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Done. -- Longhair 03:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
No problems. I wonder how long it is before some anti-redlinker decides it's best editing once again :) -- Longhair 03:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Peter Loney

Very good, for somebody I assume has never visited the City of Geelong, my home town, it's an excellent start. -- Longhair 04:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I've categorised and stubbed the article for now. I'll do a search for a good image. Most local politicians are pictured with images online. Finding a suitable freely licenced photograph is usually the only problem. I'll see what I can dig up. -- Longhair 04:30, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I dislike politics actually, and politicians for that matter, as they always, always seem to win every bloody election :) Well done however on another fine stub, bringing a close to all current open requests at Wikipedia:WikiProject Geelong. It's highly appreciated. -- Longhair 05:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

If you're going to write on state politics, I hope you can do better than your articles on Peter Loney and Michael Crutchfield, both of which I've just had to clean up. You included silly trivia in Crutchfield's article (and not much else), and included patent nonsense in Loney's article about him resigning for being a socialist. Edits like that are asking to get reverted or fixed up. Please take more care and do more research in the future. Rebecca 10:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

If you are unwilling or unable to abide by the guidelines set forth in WP:CIVIL, you are no longer welcome to leave messages on my talk page. --Folajimi 15:25, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Again, excellent work with Rod Blake. Keep going - I won't stop you :) -- Longhair 23:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ambroise Vollard

Hi again. I wasn't 100% sure what you required, but I realised the article history had been lost in a recent move. I restored to Ambroise Vollard. How's that? -- Longhair 23:54, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

What's the correct spelling? Ambrose Vollard or Ambroise Vollard? Sorry, it's still early here :) -- Longhair 00:01, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I think I got it right first time. How's this look?, which is the article at Ambroise Voillard. The article history now begins from your contributions in January 2006, rather another users edits from today. -- Longhair 00:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

The image Image:Emerson color thumb.jpg appears not to have changed. Remember, once an image is overwritten or deleted, it's gone. Administrators cannot recover deleted images. -- Longhair 23:45, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage subpage deletion

This user subpage has been deleted as requested. -- Longhair 21:15, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Our barter system seems to be working very well :) Thanks again. -- Longhair 22:09, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
I see your point with the 'other uses' tag. I took it out to avoid confusing readers with a redlink. We'll have to arrange an auto signature script for you me thinks ;) We all do it at times. -- Longhair 22:29, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
It could be the wrong time to arrange a 'fancy sig'. Some editors are doing their best to see them gone. What type of sig were you thinking of? -- Longhair 22:37, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
There's a lot of useful info on customised signatures using colours, here. Hope this helps. I once myself had a customised sig which broke during a software upgrade, so I eventually stuck with the boring old standard issue. -- Longhair 22:55, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Don't let me stop you. If you want colours, go ahead. I thought it best to remind you though that non-standard changes sometimes break when software is upgraded, which occured to myself. All one really needs to do is edit the relevant field under preferences, as the examples on that link above show. Easy stuff. -- Longhair 23:04, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Frank Costa

Certainly do. It's all over the local papers. -- Longhair 00:45, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Most articles referring to the Australian dollar do so as such, as per the example of AUD$10M. Australia doesn't have a unique currency symbol like say, the Euro. We use '$' to denote currency. -- Longhair 00:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
No. It's broken. Our local media hasn't learned yet about internet archiving. I've tried, trust me, I've tried. Ignore that site. Content never sticks around long enough to worry about. -- Longhair 00:58, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Our local media can go to hell :) -- Longhair 01:04, 4 June 2006 (UTC) (who's been the subject of a badly written story in the past from said paper).
I wouldn't call it a stub, but there's a section of editors who see stubs as any article that isn't complete. If you wish to remove the stub notices I won't complain. Well researched. May I ask where you're at? You do seem to be able to source and write on information well with limited resources available. -- Longhair 02:49, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Sleep well. Another productive day at the office. Thanks for all your help. -- Longhair 02:58, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Possibly. The name doesn't ring any bells. Try looking through the Category:Australian awards, or if you can let me know which sport he was awarded for, I'll do my best to find your answer. Who awarded Costa the award, which may give me a clue. I wouldnt worry about Point Richards. It's of minute importance really. Most locals wouldn't even know of the place unless taken there by force. :) -- Longhair 03:02, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Indeed it seems the Australian Sports Medal is redlinked, I'll put up a request for it to be created by a more knowledge editor. -- Longhair 03:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
You're close to becoming a major participant in WikiProject:Geelong :) I've got to pop outdoors for a moment to the real world. I'll be back online later today. Thanks for your inputs. They're most welcome. -- Longhair 03:15, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure how to correct the succession box issue. It's another problem I'll raise with more the more box-inclined Australians :) -- Longhair 22:28, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tom Price

I'm not sure on who's more notable. I'd say they'd take equal par with disambigutation. One I suspect was responsible in some way for the naming of the town, Tom Price, Western Australia, though I've never reseached it's origins. -- Longhair 00:45, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

...and after checking, it appears that was named after an American. -- Longhair 00:46, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Nothing has my goat. Everything is as per normal around here, I think. I just have some important real life things to do today, so I'm calmly proceeding rather than receptively inviting the onslaught :) Thanks for the concern. All is well. -- Longhair 23:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Establishments by year

Thanks for your consideration. Have a look at Category:1908 establishments for example and you should be able to see what I'm doing. Essentially, I'm temporarily using estcattemp whilst I've modified estcat. As I've now finished with estcat I'm in the rather long process of renaming all the years back to use estcat. Eg. for 1908: {{estcattemp|190|8}} goes to {{estcat|190|8|1899|1910}}. This change allows the reader to skip forwards and back between decades. If you want to help then please do. [edit] List of Mayors of Geelong/Mayors of Geelong

I lived out of town for a while there, so my information could be wrong. Many smaller municipialities amalgamated in the 80's or 90's, forming the City of Greater Geelong. There is now no longer a posistion of Mayor of Geelong West (or West Geelong, it's the same thing). The Mayor of Geelong = the Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong. Is that confusing enough? ;) Politics ain't my major. -- Longhair 21:43, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. Are you asking me where to find information about Geelong mayors, or on how to write an article about Geelong mayors?

  • If the former, I have no particular expertise on this, but I suggest the Greater Geelong City Council would probably have such a list, and they might have some biographical information. Once you have a list of names, I suggest you go to the State Library of Victoria website and search their cataloge for the names, you will probably turn up something on most of them. There may well be a good library in Geelong too, but I don't know. If you are a really dedicated researcher, the files of the Geelong Advertiser, one of the oldest papers in Australia, would give you information on mayoral elections back to very early times, and obituaries of the mayors at the date of their deaths.
  • If the latter, there are numerous "List of..." articles you could use as a template. Some use fancy tables, some are just plain lists. Browse around and find one you like, then copy the format.

Adam 13:08, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

No. Geelong is about, err, 70kms from South Melbourne. The two aren't related in any way. I've deleted the image as requested also. I'm on wikibreak now until further notice. I've got to arrange a pending move across the state. Back soon. -- Longhair 00:28, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm officiallly back from my recent wikibreak, however only here and there. I'm going to be somewhat busy offline over the next few weeks organising a move some 700kms away (for the nth time). I'll still be calling in from time to time and extended breaks will be marked using the break tag to let others know I may not be around to reply. Thanks for the welcome back. Feels good to sit down and relax for a while :) -- Longhair 01:31, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Re; the list of mayors, I did my best to touch it up without any research yesterday, though I'm not that up to date on Geelong's history to approve of the entire content. I'm tidying up the Geelong WikiProject now which will hopefully make it easier to grade articles for accuracy and the like. -- Longhair 17:44, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Can I ask where you're sourcing most of your information from for this list. If possible, I'll try another combination in chronological order, and attempt succession boxes on the articles themselves. -- Longhair 05:15, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: who was the first mayor? Both the articles for Foster Fyans and Alexander Thomson make the claim. It's fact check time :( -- Longhair 22:52, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm about to head into the city. I'll call into some places like the City of Greater Geelong, the library and information centres to ask for some information. Just pop a {{verify}} notice on the article for now if you like. -- Longhair 00:36, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I checked with the Geelong Heritage Centre and City Hall. The Geelong Heritage Centre is only open to the public on Tuesdays. I'll make another visit then. By the way, I'm out of town until Tuesday. I don't see myself being online until then. Real life calls (again). -- Longhair 04:55, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
I got back from wikibreak feeling well overdue for sleep so missed their only open day unfortunately. Then I noticed the article was nominated for deletion. My goodness! I've noted down a reminder to head into the GHC next Tuesday for a looksee. -- Longhair 03:03, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm heading into the city in about 3 hours. I'll take a look inside then. -- Longhair 01:37, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I spent a short amount of time at the GHC and am planning to head back in a week or so to read up some more. Today I spent my time mostly becoming familiar with the place (they've got a lot of history inside, one could spend a week there and come out wanting). Anything in particular you want confirmed or researched? I can call ahead apparently and have more information on hand before I go to make my time there easier. They don't have a list of mayors as such, but they are the best source for confirming the accuracy of the list as it stands. Fire away with what you wanted checked up on and I'll head back to see what I can discover. I'm out of town again this weekend, so don't be alarmed if I go missing for a while :) -- Longhair 06:35, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll try make the GHC again today. -- Longhair 21:40, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
I missed it :( It's long overdue mate, and you have my word that I'll be in there for sure next Tuesday 9am. It's my last chance before I move to another town and I'm as keen to get this sorted as you are. I'm keeping next Tuesday free so we'll have the information then if it exists at all. Sorry about this. Moving is taking up a lot of my city wandering time. Feel free to shoot me a list if you need anything other than mayors looked into. I probably won't be in Geelong for some months beyond late next week so it's next week or never. I'll be there. -- Longhair 10:55, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User page deleted

It happens quite often. Perhaps some people have an allergy to red links? :) I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just let me know if it ever happens again and I'll happily zap it clean for you. -- Longhair 01:40, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roger Quigley

I noticed it, but I thought header would made easier to find the novel, if someone were looking for it. Specially if the article gets bigger, because the reference would be lost in the middle. Anyway, feel free to change it if you think it's enough with the internal reference. Good day. Guestia 22:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] {{Portal:Music/Birthdays/Template}}

I spent a fair amount of time on this template, and I'd prefer to use it for consistency between entries, and for ease of format change - imagine what it would be like if we had to switch to a new format halfway through doing all the birthdays! But since you seem to have taken the task of creating all the entries, I'll leave the choice of whether to use the template or not up to you.

However, I do feel that it is necessary to make the ages auto-update, so that we don't have to go through and update them all in a year. I'm going to change the entries to do so. Again, please ask if you have any questions as to how the templates work. Thanks, Λυδαcιτγ 20:10, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

I made the changes. I really want to urge you to consider using my template. It looks very professional, especially with the parentheses. See Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/June_15 for an example. And again, with so many musician's birthdays to do, it would be a real pain to have to make a change to every one of them by hand.
The template is pretty easy to use. It calculates the age for you, and does most of the formatting - you just put in the raw data and the description. I think that once you get used to it, you will really appreciate it being there. I will do all the coding and technical stuff; you can just reap the benefits I stated above. Λυδαcιτγ 20:36, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
This is a problem:
In some cultures, including "– present" is considered impolite — to say the least. The impression is that you are just waiting for the subject to fall into the casket, just so you can etch the date of death on their tombstone. Folajimi 00:41, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Why is my name showing up in the template? Folajimi 00:42, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
The reason was that it's set to use the name of the page it's at as the birthdate. So if it's at Portal:Music/Birthdays/June 23, it would use June 23 as the date. But now it's set to just display <date> outside the Portal namespace. Λυδαcιτγ 02:46, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, I'll fix these two issues. I'm going to make a static copy, and then an updated copy, to show the difference:Test templates deleted. Λυδαcιτγ 02:44, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
  • That's all well and good, but I'd rather you did this test in some sort of sandbox... --Folajimi 02:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
  • My name is still showing on the end of the template. Folajimi 02:50, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
    • OK, should be all good! There's usage instructions at Portal:Music/Birthdays/Template. Λυδαcιτγ 03:27, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
      • Having the date appear twice is rather repetitive. --Folajimi 03:34, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
        • I can't get it to stop doing this. But luckily, this is only a problem when you are looking at the entries on dates other than the date they are intended to be used on. When the time comes for an entry to be featured at the main portal, it won't have the second date. Instead of "on June 25", it will say "today"! Λυδαcιτγ 04:37, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
          • The idea that the entry will look ugly every other day of the year except when it is relevant — and only if it is a featured article — leaves much to be desired.
            • Sorry. Do you want to use the template, or no? Λυδαcιτγ 15:39, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
              • If you can fix the issue, yes. Folajimi 16:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I think everything is good to go. I'll finish up combining Portal:Music/Birthdays and Portal:Music/DateOfBirth.

Sorry if I've annoyed you; I've probably been over-eager to use my template. Hope you'll like it. Λυδαcιτγ 02:57, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

It's fixed. Λυδαcιτγ 03:03, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, that's because it's not in the Portal namespace. If you look at any of the pages here, they work fine. It shouldn't be a problem for any Portal page. What it's doing right now is using the pagename (since this is "User talk:Folajimi", it takes the "Folajimi") as the date. This works for all the Portal:Music/Birthdays/??? pages.
If it's a problem I can make it say <date> instead. Λυδαcιτγ 03:13, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, anything else? Λυδαcιτγ 03:29, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
That is all. Folajimi 03:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Henry Barwell

I removed the sections because I didn't think the article required them. While sections are valuable in longer articles, I can't see this article getting much larger and i think it just made the article look ugly. If you consider it important for [[Henry Barwell] to have sections, by all means include them. --Roisterer 15:42, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Music birthdays

Which path do you want to use - Portal:Music/Birthdays or Portal:Music/DateOfBirth? It would probably be less effort to use the former, but I can combine them to either. Λυδαcιτγ 22:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

The template should allow the death year alone now. Note that I moved it to Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/Template. The category is fixed, but now you have to type the full date out, with both numbers - June 03, instead of June 3. Λυδαcιτγ 19:37, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

My mistake. Λυδαcιτγ 03:19, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Strange; the last entry of Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/July 18 works for me: "Ryan Cabrera, American musician and TV personality, turns 24." Is it still broken for you? Λυδαcιτγ 23:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Could be because of the lack of noinclude tags, which stop the main Portal page from being in the celebrity birthdays category. Tell me if it happens again. Λυδαcιτγ 00:52, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikibreak status

I'm back home now, only short term though, and my available wiki-time is short but I'm making appearances when I can. I'm about to make that long move to a new town some 600kms away. I'm here in Geelong for a week or so more, and will be able to hopefully make ot to the GHC next Tuesday. I arrived back in town a little bit late to make it to the GHC this week sorry. Moving away won't be the end of it though. I still have much family here who may also help out. What else did you need moving? I'll see how I can help. -- Longhair 22:01, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

An article already exists at Jon DeRosa but it was a pretty bare stub. Your article is now in place. -- Longhair 03:25, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Template status.

Hello! Apparently, the discussion stopped after the requesting the consensus (which was quite successful, I would say). The poll never ended, though. Maybe it is time to revive the discussion, decide if we are to replace the current template with the new one or have both up at the same time, moving the articles from one infobox to another with a bot or something. -- ReyBrujo 18:31, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay, job is chaotic right now. The infobox should be backwards compatible with the old one. By adding the correct type, the infobox color and type should be correctly set. And if the type is a non standard one, the article is put inside the Category:Articles about albums with infoboxes using non-standard type parameter value category (which should be renamed according to consensus, too). Those were the main modifications to the infobox. -- ReyBrujo 18:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Let's see (if I understood you correctly). User:ReyBrujo/Sandbox is the template itself. Its usage is basically the same of the current infobox, with a modification: the Type parameter has been standarized. The different values the Type parameter can get are specified in User:ReyBrujo/Temp/Sandbox, especifically here. It wikifies automatically if it is a known type, or leaves it if it is not. In example, if you use Type = Live album, you will get something like this (note that in the Live album by Do As Infinity line, Live album is automatically wikified). If you use a non-standard type, it is accepted, but you should provide the wikification. In this example:
    Type = [[Extended play|EP]]/[[DVD]]
is used. Note that the type is not one of the accepted ones, so you need to supply the wikification. Whenever you include a type that is not standard, the article is put into a maintenance category.
There is also an optional Longtype parameter. This parameter allows you to include extra information between the type and the author, without breaking the Type. In example:
    Type = Soundtrack
    Artist = [[Madonna (entertainer)|Madonna]]
will result in Soundtrack by Madonna. If we wanted to say that the soundtrack was for a determined movie, we would have to add it in the type, which would break the Type parameter (as the value would be non standard):
    Type = [[Soundtrack]] to ''[[The Next Best Thing]]''
    Artist = [[Madonna (entertainer)|Madonna]]
will result in Soundtrack to The Next Best Thing by Madonna, but would be non standard type and categorized with the maintenance category.
To prevent this we use the Longtype parameter. In the example, we use the following text to get the correct description:
    Type = Soundtrack</nowiki>
    Longtype = to ''[[The Next Best Thing]]''</nowiki>
    Artist = [[Madonna (entertainer)|Madonna]]</nowiki>
This generates the same result than the previous example, but Soundtrack is automatically wikified because the type is known.
User:ReyBrujo/Temp/Sandbox2 is a helper function that returns the wikification used based on a type. This template is the one that converts Soundtrack into Soundtrack. User:ReyBrujo/Temp/Sandbox3 is the replacement for {{Extra album cover}} and User:ReyBrujo/Temp/Sandbox4 the replacement for {{Extra chronology}}. These two templates are necessary because they currently only accept the background color, not the type, while the modified versions would always use the Type.
Note that in all situations you can pass a Background color. If used, it will overwrite the color assigned to that type. This is in order to keep compatibility with existing infoboxes, and because non standard types may use different colors. Note that here you have an infobox about a Soundtrack with its default color, while here you have an infobox about a Soundtrack with yellow as background color.
I think this is all we did. If you want me to explain how exactly the extra templates work, do tell me and I will reply later (a bit time pressed right now). -- ReyBrujo 20:47, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Go to User:ReyBrujo/Temp/Sandbox. This is the auxiliar template that handles color. Edit it, and you will see something like:
    {{#switch:{{{1|}}}
      |EP=salmon
      |Studio album=orange
      |Live album=darkturquoise
      |Greatest hits=darkseagreen
      |Box set=darkseagreen
      |Compilation album=darkseagreen
      |Remix album=darkseagreen
      |Cover album=plum
      |Tribute album=plum
      |Soundtrack=gainsboro
      |Television theme=gainsboro
      |Film score=gainsboro
      |gainsboro
    }}
This is a switch. Every entry is of the type Type=color. Type must be one of the existing ones, while the color must be a name (I think it doesn't work with color values yet). The last one is the default color (that is why it is not a pair, but just a color). If you want to change the Tribute album color to yellow, just replace Tribute album=plum with Tribute album=yellow. Save the template, and refresh the auxiliar template and the infobox where you are trying. That should work. -- ReyBrujo 01:02, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Good! Now you should just revive the discussion at the WikiProject Album, maybe test some more, move the templates from my userspace to the mainspace, and replace some of the album articles with the new template, to see how it is being handled. We can use some of the albums from Every Little Thing and Do As Infinity, those I had worked with, there are few keeping track of them, and it would be easy to explain that the template changes are tests in real-life articles. The hardest part will be replacing all the old infoboxes with the new one, we will have to have a discussion about how to handle that. -- ReyBrujo 02:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mike Freeman

Sure. I'll fix that now. You just reminded me also - I had to give visiting the GHC a miss until I get back home in a few weeks. My move became quite time constrained towards the end. I'm heading back home soon and will make time. -- Longhair 20:42, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GHC

I would, but I'm currently 700kms away. I'm back in Geelong mid-September and will call in then for sure. It's well overdue. If it's urgent, I could arrange for a family member to call in and collect what we need. -- Longhair 03:12, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

No mate. I'm still 700kms away at my new home. My offer above still stands however. It's no drama to ask someone local to call in, seriously. -- Longhair\talk 02:17, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Give me a few days. I'll see what I can do. Tomorrow might be pushing it on such short notice, but next week might very well be ok. -- Longhair\talk 02:27, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
A member of my family has agreed to visit the GHC, however as they're only open Tuedays, they can only visit then. I'll arrange for them to visit next week and see what they can dig up re: our needs. -- Longhair\talk 03:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: ightsteelblue vs. orange

No problem. If not me, someone else would have done that (note that someone had edited the album template basically implementing the color change that would have allowed to change colors in the future. Wikipedia is built between us all, so thanks for your efforts to push forward the project when it seemed to have been forgotten. -- ReyBrujo 16:28, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: syntax request.

Hmm... well, I just tried it for a second, and the results weren't that nice :) I will modify the {{Infobox Album color}} to accept more items, and then will try again. There will be an amount of albums that may not be covered with the change, we will have to fix those by hand. -- ReyBrujo 20:37, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

The problem was that the background color was set to orange, and for now, background color takes precedence over type. I have posted a note in the Album WikiProject stating I plan on making a change to the template so that the Type takes priority on Friday night (maybe 30-32 hours from now), as I will be around to examine the results of such change and revert back if there is just too many errors). -- ReyBrujo 21:06, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
The change has been made. The background parameter is now ommited, and the infobox color is selected by checking the type. The category for non-standard types hasn't been created yet, I may do that in a week after fixing any problem that may still be happening. -- ReyBrujo 06:17, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Tools for navigating birthday pages

It's possible, but the calendars will have to be put in manually (or by bot).

User:Audacity/Sandbox is an example of an October calendar for this year. It would be copied to Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October 2006. Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October would then link to this year's calendar (for now, Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October 2006), and each of the October pages would link to Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October. The only maintenence work would be creating a new calendar for each new month, which takes 2 minutes.

If you're willing to add or find someone to add {{Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October}} (or whatever the month is) to the top of each DOB page, I'll go ahead and make the templates. Λυδαcιτγ 01:26, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

All right, all done. I did Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/October 1 as an example.
AutoWikiBot, if you don't know of it already, will save you a lot of time. Λυδαcιτγ 23:16, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Nothing major, but the presence of the calendar on the main portal page is clunky to my eyes. You might want to put noinclude tags around {{Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/month}}:
<noinclude>
{{Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/month}}
</noinclude>

[edit] Portal:Music

Hello Folajimi, just wondering if you could have a look at the Music Portal talk page, the portal failed in its nomination as a featured portal candidate, and I think there's quite a few things we could improve on the portal, including the birthdays. I've listed a few ideas on the talk page, hope you can help, thanks :-) Madder 14:07, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Sylvia Massy.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sylvia Massy.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 06:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
