Fish & Richardson is a law firm specializing in intellectual property. It is a national law firm, with offices in 10 U.S. cities. Its largest office is in Boston. Founded in 1878, the firm represented Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, and the Wright Brothers.
Recently the firm has expanded adding a corporate practice as well. The firm has large patent litigation and patent prosecution groups and the firm was among the early firms to establish a biotechnology practice. The corporate and securities group provides corporate, securities, and transactional services to clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations. The Boston office is also home to Kneerim & Williams at F&R, a literary and dramatic rights agency representing various authors.
