The current article says in the text that the Jagstang has a Mustang trem, but in the infobox that it's a floating tremolo. Can't be both. The floating tremolo is the Fender Jaguar trem, while the Mustang trem is the Dynamic Vibrato, the other Fender floating bridge mechanism. See tremolo arm for some details.
I think it's a Mustang trem, but I'd also guess that this might have been part of Kurt Cobain's problem with the guitar. The Mustang trem is a lot less stable than either the Jag or Strat trems. It can be real fun to jam on, or to record if you can afford the studio time to get it right. But to deliver on stage, even for one song and then change to another freshly tuned guitar, using a Mustang trem would be a real challenge IMO. To pick one up after someone else had tuned it would be a different experience every time, you would have absolutely no idea how a bend was going to work until you tried it, even less idea of how much the tuning would be out afterwards, and no hope of fixing it if it went wrong. It hurts to think of trying.
So, maybe they tried both Mustang and Jag trems. But the Jag trem action wouldn't have suited Cobain's style at all, again IMO. Fender quite deliberately limited the range of the Jag trem in order to improve tuning stability. Perfect for surf bands, but physically unable to deliver a lot of what Cobain would have wanted. Likely result a bent trem lever.

Is Fender Japan still manufacturing the Fender Jag-Stang? What would the purpose be if there was no intent to sell them anymore? I myself have been looking to buy one for months unsuccesfully.
