Wife and children seem to be mixed up. According to http://www.redflame93.com/Cornelia60.html, he was married to Domitia Lepida, and one of their children was Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix. This appears to be confirmed by the Domitia Lepida entry. Someone with more knowledge about Roman history might want to have a look.
Also, the text somewhat creates the impression that it might possibly have been copied from a book. I did not find a matching Google reference, though. It might be nice to get some reference information from the author. Groeck 16:06, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
I find it unlikely that the Ulpii Traiani were related to the Cornelii Sullae. Trajan's family came from Spain. Don't you think that some of the ancient sources would have at least noted the connection?
There is absolutely no sourcing whatsoever for this! This is simply created out of thin cloth like Colleen McCullough's First Man series! Like a frigging soap opera.
Now now...McCuloough did a lot of homework, despite the liberties she took in what was after all a NOVEL. But, to the point, I would like to see some citations. And these Ulpi could easily be someone else or a different branch. And what town was this child named after? Is there a Traia in Illyrica or something? I have Barrington's atlas, so ill look, as well as a classical dictionary. Ill look into some of these names. Honestly, I'd never heard of them in all my readings.--Cjcaesar 17:52, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
This entry is completely made up. We do not know the name of Faustus Cornelius Sulla's son, we know he exists because his son and grandson are documented, but we don't know his praenomen. His son should be Faustus(II). Faustus we know because he was one of the 12 members of the Arvales Fraternity that Augustus created/re-created. He never held office. The descendants of Pompey and Sulla were disenfranchised at this point. His son was a consul suffect under Tiberius, who resurrected the careers of the familes of Sulla and Pompey(as Faustus was) His son was the Faustus who was consul under Claudius and as a member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty murdered by Nero. He was the last male member of his dynasty. All other known male members of the family were descendants of P. Sulla, the dictator's nephew and Caesar's legate who was elected Consul in 66 BC. This includes the consul of 33AD who strangely had the same personal cognomen as the dictator(Felix.)--Gbekar 19:07, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
