Erb's point
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Erb's point is an anatomical site above the clavicle in angle formed by the clavicle and the sternocleidomastoid muscle, adjacent to the C6 vertebra. (The sternocleidomastoid muscles are muscles in the neck that act to flex and rotate the head.)
Erb's point is also the point where the cervical plexus emerges from beneath the sternocleidomastoid. The spinal accessory nerve can be identified just deep to Erb's point.
Erb's point is approximately located in the middle of the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
