[edit] Your RFA

You seem to have created a Request for Adminship for yourself after just 8 edits to Wikipedia. You are unlikely to become an admin with an account this new; Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Standards lists some of the standards people use for voting. For instance, compare Special:Contributions/Endgame1 with Special:Contributions/ais523; even though it might look like I've done a lot of editing, I'm not nearly experienced enough that the community would allow me to become an administrator. The answers to the questions don't show a need for adminship powers anyway; for instance, creating stubs can be done by any registered user; the only major admin powers are blocking users, IPs, and IP ranges, protecting pages from editing, and deletions/undeletions, none of which is needed.

If you now agree with me that the RfA is a bad idea, just tag it with {{db-author}} (place {{db-author}} at the top of the page) and an admin will delete it for you/

By the way, you haven't even been welcomed yet. The welcome message contains links to things like the rules, which make good reading if you aspire to become an admin:

Welcome!

Hello, Endgame1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  --ais523 09:26, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AutoCAD Layers article

I understand your eagerness to improve this article, but I believe its subject matter (and not necessarily just the exact substance) is not worthy of an article at Wikipedia. This is why I have put it up for discussion via the AfD procedure. There will be a 5-day discussion. You are free to voice why you believe the article fits the policies of this website (particularly WP:NOT). Thanks. ju66l3r 09:28, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

When adding your input to the AfD discussion, please add new comments at the bottom and do not alter the formatting of the already present text as it is specifically setup for others to be able to read it or administrate it as necessary. ju66l3r 09:30, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RfA

An Rfa is a request for adminship. If you're new, please read the tutorials given in the above welcome message. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 12:22, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RFA

Please do not change the comments of others. Doing so is not a good thing. I guess you're kinda new to the !vote nuttiness of RFA so no worries :) -- Tawker 01:51, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help

How do I request an article?

Please check out WP:REQUEST. It's a good place to start. =) –- kungming·2 | (Talk·Contact) 05:57, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Information required

4. Since the candidate is from India, and the candidate has made an article about the the Ahmedabad Stock Exchange, and has knowledge of Indian Politics, Law, and Business, as mentioned from the co-nominators above, would the candidate be willing to find more information and expand Wikipedia, espescially the business aspects, exports, imports, currency valuations; of India after the candidate becomes an Admin?

5. So what you are saying is you shall only create articles which interest you, not what is asked by Wikipedia communitiy if you can help them
6 Please, would you help expand this stub article from research Shipping Corporation of India ?
7 Please would you create an article from your research regarding the customs tax in India that is Import and Export? An example of other countries would be
An interesting aspect of this article should contain whether India levys export taxes on materials shipped to western countries, and if so how much?

Endgame1 07:25, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

8 Please would you create an article from your research on how bulk materials shipped to Canada from India? --Endgame1 07:34, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Answers to Q 6,7,8 - Well, you have caught me when I had some things planned of my own (like helping out User:Rajithmohan with the Thiruvananthapuram article, and expanding Freedom of Religion Bill - an article I started yesterday). I'll take a look at Shipping Corp. of India and try and improve that article. The other 3 articles you request will be a bit harder and I can't honestly promise to create those article during the course of this RfA. If you begin work on those articles now, I can chip in during the next week. Another suggestion I can give is to nominate one of the articles for WP:INCOTW so that more editors can help and work can be done faster. - Aksi_great (talk) 07:58, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi Endgame, thanks for the compliments, although i dont think i deserve much credit for creating a stub, hehe. If you are really intrested in SCI, please help in expanding it from information from their homepage and the www.
I see that you are new to wikipeia and have been very active around the place. You might want to start of by observing how things work around here by visiting discussion pages and such. If you have anything to add to articles feel free to do so without any inhibitions, even if you make a mistake it will soon be corrected by others. Just keep in mind two things: 1) This is an encyclopedia, so only add content which you might expect to find in an encyclopedia 2) Never cut and paste text or upload copyright images.
If you have any questions or need any help feel free to contact me or an admin, bye and have fun editing -- PlaneMad|YakYak 19:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Foreign trade by country

Could you explain why you've been removing articles from Category:Foreign trade by country? I've reverted your addition of a speedy deletion request to the category page; if you believe the category should not exist, please use WP:CFD. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 12:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Foreign trade and international trade are two names for the same; on that we agree. The subdivision "... by country" exists to allow for articles on particular countries, to avoid populating the parent category with such specific topics. In any case, you erased the category from several articles; you didn't replace it. If you believe it should be renamed, use the proper channels. Be aware that speedy deletion does not apply in this case. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 12:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] House market

I do not know of any specific indicators which indicate the direction in which home prices are going. But real estate market in India is booming. This article talks about the future of real-estate in India. But each city has different trends. For example This article talks about prices in Chandigarh. - Aksi_great (talk) 15:20, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reversions

I have had to go through a large number of articles and revert edits that you made because they were not appropriate. You should not mark category deletions as "minor" and you should not remove valid categories from an article unless you provide an edit summary as well to let other editors know why you have removed what is probably a valid category. In one case, you even removed a link that goes to a foreign language version of the same article in your haste to remove the category tag. In reviewing many of your edits and questions over the past few days, I feel that you do not have a good understanding of how this site functions. I ask you to read some of the links in the welcome text above and look at others' edits in the history on articles that interest you to get a better understanding for good editing practices. I do not wish to start warning you for blanking because I know that you are probably editing in good faith at this point, but there comes a time when others have to spend too much energy undoing the problems of someone who does not act correctly even if well-meaning. ju66l3r 17:31, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category usage

Articles are able to be placed in multiple categories just fine. There is no reasoning behind removing an article from International Trade if it's also in a Currency-related category as well. It's likely that the subject of the article spans both realms. For example, I wrote an article whose subject is both a blog AND a webcomic at the same time. It is in both categories because of this. I hope that helps. Also, historical period does not change whether something is classified by a certain category (unless the category is specific about the time period). Therefore, an article on shipping lines between Japan and California can be in a category like "Trade Routes" just as much as the Tea Trails of ancient Asia....since they are both about trade routes (regardless of their present status for most cases). You can read more at this policy page for categories, lists, and series boxes. ju66l3r 21:35, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advertising !vote pages

It's not normally seen as being a good thing around here, many see it as being a bad thing (and spamming and !vote swinging) - you might want to keep that in mind :) -- Tawker 03:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

See [1] and [2] - normally when we see those kinds of edits it looks like someone is trying to bring the attention of people to a specific !vote page, which sways consensus and as such is generally discouraged. No biggie, I figured you weren't aware of it :) -- Tawker 04:06, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Ok, oops... can you make a note of that in the summary or edit "your attention on deletions is required at" please... - it helps idiot admins like me from making that mistake :o -- Tawker 04:14, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Admin, janitor, same thing - you're right, janitor is probally more descriptive as admin seems all power hungry and well, like it's a status symbol which it isn't :) -- Tawker 04:20, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] When to use CfD

For categories, you often have to check the context in which they are created. For the example you asked about on my talk page (Guided Missles of Canada -> Air-to-air missles of Canada -> 1 article), if you go one level higher than the Guided Missles category, you'll see that nearly every country with any sort of military presence has a category for its own guided missles. While empty categories (or categories with very few articles) may seem pointless, often they are done out of continuity and completeness. Eventually, something/someone may fill the category (and often these things are never really "finished" or "complete" because something new will come along to fit the category). Other times, like for Guided Missles of Canada, it's an important hierarchical step to go from GM of country to GM of Canada to specific GM type of Canada. In the example you asked about on my page, I'd just leave them alone and move on to another place to clean up. Your merge suggestion on your own talk page shows more promise of somewhere that it appears multiple categories got created along the way. In my time here on Wikipedia I have ever only put 1 category up for deletion (it was a near duplicate of another, almost down to the name, even) and 1 category up for renaming (the title was sort of conflicted in its own phrasing). Hope that helps. ju66l3r 05:50, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What happened?

Hi, Endgame. I am sorry you decided to quit from WP. I have been watching you edits for the past few days and i see that you are frustrated by the democratic setup of the place. [edit] Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 January 1

Please refrain from adding db tags to the said page. "too old" is not a valid reason to delete. - Aksi_great (talk) 12:38, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 30

This is your second warning on this. I understand you want to leave because nobody will do your research for you [3], but that is no reason to go on a vandalism spree. --Kbdank71 13:23, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:1010s architecture

Please stop whatever you're doing with that category. If you want to nominate it for deletion, then do so, it definitely is not a candidate for speedy deletion and it deftinitely shouldn't have the standard banner removed from it.--Konst.ableTalk 23:52, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
