Emilio Fede

Emilio Fede (born in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Messina, Sicily, June 24, 1931) is a well-known Italian anchorman, often accused of partisanship in favour of the owner of Italian media giant Mediaset, Italy's former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

He started his career in the Italian public broadcasting company RAI in the early 1950s, and went on to become one of the most popular faces in its news broadcasts. In the 1980s he left RAI (he later claimed he had been purged for political reasons).

He returned later as the director/presenter of the news on Rete 4, a channel of the privately owned Mediaset conglomerate, owned by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. The newscast is named TG4, and focuses largely on Italian politics.
