Elvenpath

Elvenpath is the first song that appears on the debut album of Nightwish, Angels Fall First. Some will say that this album really is a demo, and that the first real album is Oceanborn. The song introduces us to fantasy characters and imaginary worlds, accompanied by symphonic metal music and Tarja Turunen's operatic vocals.
The lyrics contain references to Finnish paganism (Tapio, Mielikki), and two lines from J.R.R. Tolkien's ring poem. The reading of the ring poem is taken from the opening of the Lord of the Rings animated movie.
