The case Diego Santoy Riverol vs. Ericka Peña Coss has capture the Mexican and Hispanics living in US because of all the contradictions that had been present during the case. An overview about it: On the morning of March 2, 2006 (the exact time is still unknown but it has been said it was around 4- 4:30 am)two children were killed by two suspects who still are defending their side of the story. In one hand, we have Ericka Peña Coss, the daughter of a divorced couple who practice "Astronomy". They both have their web sites and work doing "astral letters" (horoscopes). Erika's mother also works at a Monterrey local tv channel doing the same type of work. This side of the story claims that Diego broke into their home (to which the man had the entrance security code due to his love relationship.) They stated that they do not know at what time Diego went into the residency because they where sleeping (Erika, Azura (older sister) Erik and Maria Fernanda (murdered that morning) and Catalina (housekeeper). March the 2nd was a Monday where Erika had instructions from her mother (who was out of town as it was common due to her job)to take her little brother Erik to school, and also to take Ma. Fernanda to her day care. Ericka claims that she "over slept", when she realized it was late to take the children to their school setting, she decided to go back to sleep. She mentions that she saw her little sister playing before going back to sleep. One contradiction here is:

ERICKA'S SIDE OF THE STORY: She "realised" that it was late to take the children to school, but then she recognises to ignore the time she got up because she "does not have a clock" in her bedroom. She claims that she got up(at about 11 am) and went to her mother's room where Diego (who was covering his face, and had duct tape on shoes--declared by the "victims") started hitting her on the head with a hammer. She states that she recognized Diego and told him "I know its you Diego". According to Ericka, Diego took the mask off and started crying asking her "why" she did not love him anymore. (They had known each other for 3 years, became boyfriend and girlfiend and Erika terminated the relationship, she claims they broken up on November 2005, but Diego's mom declared this happened during January 2006) According to Erika, Diego confessed her that he had murdered his two little siblings, and also the house keeper. Then she claims he said: "well, I am not sure--about the children, but I did kill the house keeper" then Erika responded "ah, okay". She states that Diego told her that he had taken drugs to kill himself and asked her to let him lye down by her side while he died. She also says that after a while when she saw that nothing happened to him she told him "I don't think that what you took is working", then he asked her to kill him, to which she refused. Then Diego told her "then I am going to kill you". She declares that Diego stabbed her on the neck twice, ahd that he even stepped on the knife so she would lose blood faster. Then she claims that he, then stabbed her again on one long so she would "die sooner". Erika mentions that she faked to have died, and she heard Diego leaving the room, then that when she tried to got up --to look for help, she realized he still was in the room and kept hurting her. Is important to mention that Erika claims that she asked Diego for her life, and that her sister in this 7 hour crime did not hear anything because she was on her room working on the computer and listening to the radio un till after 12 noon when her mom's friend called her to ask her to check on Erika. Anyway, after Diego kept hurting Erika, she claims that he did not leave the room until she simulated to have seizures, and died. After he leaves, then she gets up and goes to ask for help from her mom's secretary--Teresa Coss has an office which is attached to the house.

DIEGO'S SIDE OF THE STORY: He claims that Ericka called him to his cell-phone and asked him to see her. He said he asked his friend to dropped him off at her house some time before 4:am. He stated that he waited for her to arrive, between 4-4:30. He claims that they were together until about 7:am and then they both went down stairs to the kitchen to eat something. While she made sandwiches, brother Erik came and started teasing and told Erika that he was going to tell her mother about Diego being at their home. She got mad and told him to stop and leave. Somewhere during this happened, Erika found out that Erik had wet the bed, she stabbed him and ask Diego to hold him while she did it. Then he said they heard the hose-keeper coming and Erika asked Diego to go tie her and put her on the bathroom. He claims that Erika then, when her little sister came, Erika had told her "come here I am going to show you a new game so you can play it with Erik". Diego claims that Erika asked her to go on her knees and put her arms down like she was a dog, and then she strangled her. After this, Diego claims that they started talking about what they were going to do next, and Erika told him that they were going to kill them selves. She asked him to kill her with the hammer, but he confesses that he could not hit her too hard, then she gave him the knife and told him that after he kill her he had to go and kill himself on a bridge, but before doing this, he had to get rid of the house-keeper-killing her. After he "kill" Erika, he put the housekeeper on the car and let her go free. Then he ran away, later called his brother and together they planned to go back to Monterrey to turn himself into the authorities. But in the way the authorities found them and arrest them. The Santoy brothers claim that Diego had to leave Monterrey because Tere Coss' network made this public too much and Diego's head had a price. They were avoiding that people, without knowing the truth, were going to kill Diego by their own hands which has been happening lately in Mexico. The problem here is that there have been a lot of irregularities in the case, and it has been said that tree Coss knows people in the government that are making the case to look like Diego is the only one doing the killing. The controversy now is that there are groups that are promoting the Santoy's side and request the media to keep covering the note until everything is clear. Some media had been showing preference to the side of Erika Peña Coss, that is the one that has more irregularities. one of this groups is called vocespublicas@yahoo.com.mx, and also had been chicks that formed "fan club" about the santoy's side.
