Dennis Linde

Dennis Linde (born March 18, 1943 in Abilene, Texas) is an American songwriter.
Although he is best known for writing the 1972 Elvis Presley hit, Burning Love, Dennis Linde has written numerous hit songs for mainly country music singers. In 2000, his song for the Dixie Chicks, "Goodbye, Earl," stirred much attention for its humorous take on spousal abuse. Linde has written tunes recorded by Roger Miller, Tanya Tucker, Gary Morris, Don Williams, the Judds and Garth Brooks.
In 2001, Linde was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.[1]
