[edit] Andrew K?

Have you read Talk:Andrew K (blogger)? I do not believe Andrew K (blogger) qualifies as an attack page.

At the least, it is a worthwhile article, though perhaps not as/is.

--AlanH 02:54, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi DakotaKahn. If i may intrude, it was i who first tagged that article as an attack page. AlanH is now asserting notability for the blogger and, i believe, willing to edit down the uncivil language to an article stating the facts. I personally don't believe the blogger is notable enough for inclusion, but my understanding is that a non-attack bio with claims for notability should at least be given the opportunity to have its day in court. My apologies for drawing you into this with by tagging it in the first instance, but i just thought i would offer my tuppence worth now notability has been claimed. Rockpocket 03:08, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for your message. I just want to clarify that i didn't mean to suggest you shouldn't have deleted it (as it stood, it most certainly deserved to be deleted speedily). I just wanted to add my support to allowing him to create a new, non-attack version. Thanks - and keep up the good work! Rockpocket 03:31, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Double block

I'm not sure how double blocks work. It's happened to me before, and I've always imagined that the longer one takes precedence, but I don't know. I'd say just leave it; it probably doesn't matter. Also, quick question for you; do you know why that "31 hour" option is listed? Seems really random to me, and I've never understood why we have 24, 31, and 48 as options. —Spangineer[es] (háblame) 04:44, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Ah ha, I was wrong; it's actually the shorter one. Still, it's up to you; I don't mind it staying at 31 hours. —Spangineer[es] (háblame) 04:46, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Did you know? {{prod}} takes a parameter.

Hello there. You have proposed the article The Dugites for deletion without providing a reason why in the {{prod}} template. You may be interested to know that you can add your reasoning like that: {{prod|Add reason for deletion here}}. This will make your reasoning show up in the article's deletion notice. It will also aid other users in considering your suggestion on the Proposed Deletions log. See also: How to propose deletion of an article. Sandstein 17:53, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New concern

You might want to take a look at the deletions, contributions, and creations of this user [2]. I was particularly concerned with what he/she has done with [3]. There are several items that he/she seems to have been actively vandalizing. Kukini 00:45, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate the warmth with which you do your admin work. I contacted both you and Zoe as I was concerned about the effect that the above vandal seemed to be having. I know we all have actual real lifes outside wikipedia (although sometimes I wonder about a few of us), thus your comments about real life things you have to get done increase the esperanza among us. Best, Kukini 13:25, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Admin coaching

Hi! While User:Titoxd is on a Wikibreak, he gave me permission to do some leg-work concerning Esperanza admin coaching. I was curious how your coaching with User:Fetofs is going. If it is finished (or even if it isn't), would you be able to take on another coachee? Don't feel guilty if you don't have the time- I perfectly understand, and wouldn't want anyone feel overworked. Thanks for all your time! EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 04:45, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] well hello

Yeah, how's it going. Nothing's changed in real-life, but I haven't given up yet. If you get bored you can check your activity level for last month here. Just some data I collected, which I'm sure could be used for either good or evil. I'm going to be cutting back on my activity to the extent that will power allows (which may or may not result in a noticeable change. — Apr. 5, '06 [09:26] <freakofnurxture|talk>

I've never used gmail, but it's my understanding that such information is not provided if the sender is a gmail address. Forward it to me and I'll take a look at it. — Apr. 5, '06 [09:42] <freakofnurxture|talk>
Ok. When you said "whacked" I thought you mean "disturbing" or "threatening" or somesuch, hence my concern. Just an autoblock case it seems. I tried specifically unblocking the IP (even though no block had been placed directly on it. I'm not sure if that actually works. — Apr. 5, '06 [10:07] <freakofnurxture|talk>

[edit] A new concern

Please take a look at the combination of multiple AfD additions on sexually-oriented articles as well as the blanking of content by the following [4]. I have also pointed this out to Zoe. Thanks much, as always, Kukini 15:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: deadman

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but no bona fide new user posts something like that as his first edit. Blocked. — Apr. 6, '06 [06:21] <freakofnurxture|talk>

Dakota, it's User:Blu Aardvark, a banned user. SlimVirgin (talk) 08:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
For the IP address, we can't block indefinitely, especially as I believe in his case that it's dynamic, so he'll only have it for a short time. However, the user himself is blocked indefinitely, so his edits should be reverted on sight. SlimVirgin (talk) 08:57, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:203.32.119.33

Thanks for blocking 203.32.119.33, he was pretty hard to keep up with. Just out of random curiosity, where did you get a 31 hour block from? I dont think ive ever seen that interval before, i didnt even know it existed. Any reason or just for originality? =) -Lanoitarus (talk) .:. 04:04, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] History merges

Hi. You deleted Ciaphas Cain and Gideon Ravenor after I tagged them with {{db-histmerge}}, but you don't seem to actually have performed the history merge and recreated the pages, which are actions which still requires admin intervention. I understand that you may not have time to do this now, but if you could undelete the pages so another admin could do this, that would be much appreciated. (For what it's worth, you are the second admin to have done this, so if you could leave a note stating that further admin action is required after the deletion, that would be great!). Cheers --Pak21 09:24, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Let 3

Let 3 is maybe most popular rock band in Croatia. It is difficult to find them on google because of their short name but I assure you they are very very popular in all ex-Yougoslavian republics. About Wikipedia:Notability (music), they satisfy standard in at least 5 points. I will remove delete proposal. On bottom of article, there are links to web-sites that prove my claims. If you want, we can talk about it on my talk page. Jakiša Tomić 09:32, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talk page reversion

No problem. However, I think that his IP address was used before him to vandalise, and that it isn't his wrongdoing; I posted this on his talk page to make sure. _-M o P-_ 05:58, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry about the IPs edits to my talk page; I want to see if I can have a civil discussion with the user. He hasn't been too offencive, and I can understand where he is coming from. If it gets too heavy, then, sure, block him, but I believe that maybe he'll calm down. Thanks! _-M o P-_ 06:10, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
He has calmed down a bit; he was just a bit annoyed at the vandalism messages left on his page, because he thought he was being attacked for nothing. Thats all corrected now, I hope. _-M o P-_ 06:22, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
He got an account to avoid future identity issues; all is well now. Thanks for mediating! _-M o P-_ 06:29, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE:Deletion of one of my articles

Just want to start out this is NOT a personal attack, so I do not expect this post to be deleted.

You deleted a page I recently created. However, I do not see on what reasonable grounds you have done this. This article was about a real person with real achievements. Surely the point of Wikipedia as an encyclopedia is to be an expansive database of knowledge, and that the very beauty of the Wikipedian philosophy is that anyone can add knowledge so that it might be learned by others. Admittedly, my article was not of the highest standards, but it still constituted a piece of factual knowledge (as does every article in Wikipedia). In deleting it you have just opened yourself up to a viable criticism of being a censor. We all know what censorship is for, to limit the freedom of free speech. Yet, in this case it is, in my academic judgement, even worse due to the perception that this encyclopedia is free of censorship. Just because you did not see the page that I created as a relevant form of knowledge, it does not make it any less valid. By limiting this wonderful free resource to your consideration of reality, you have thereby limited other's chance for learning. Therefore, I must say that you should look at yourself and ask whether you should be carrying out such actions.

I anticipate that your argument in reply to this will be along the lines of: the continual editing of articles will increase the validity therein, and therefore make Wikipedia a more reliable resource. However, this is not a valid argument. This is because what you have done is outright deletion of a factual article. If you knew of facts to be incorrect then it would be entirely reasonable to edit the article. However, you did not consider this and opted for deleting it. You clearly have not thought this through enough and carry out these actions without regard for this essentially important matter.

Thank you for your time. Please post a reply here and I will come and look at it shortly.
