- I realize that this article is specific to Apple's crash reporter. I'm mentioning the unsanity app because there has been some controversy about how it modifies Apple's crash reporter so that the reports are sent to Apple as well as the developer who wrote the application (if the app that crashes isn't Apple's). - Here is a short quote: In September, Unsanity released Smart Crash Reports. Smart Crash Reports is a combination of some Mac software and a web service. The Mac software is an input manager extension, which modifies Apple’s Crash Reporter app to send reports both to Apple and to Unsanity’s web site. The web service allows other Mac developers to register their software, and to then log in to Unsanity’s web site to view the crash logs for their software. Smart Crash Reports also allows developers to have their crash reports sent directly to their own web site, rather than Unsanity’s. PaulC/T+ 20:06, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
