Congregation Knesseth Israel

Congregation Knesseth Israel is a Modern Orthodox synagogue located in Ellington, Connecticut.
The congregation was founded in 1906 by a group of Jewish farmers.
The synagogue building was built in 1913 at the corner of Middle Rd. and Abbot Rd. in Ellington. In the 1950s the building was moved to it's present location at 236 Pinney St.
In 1995, the building was selected to be on the National Register of Historic Places.
In addition to the synagogue, the congregation maintains an Orthodox Jewish cemetery within the larger Ellington Cemetery.
