Combe

A combe or (variant spellings) coombe, coomb or cwm (from Welsh) is the uppermost part of a valley.
Another definition: a short valley or hollow on a hill or coastline. Combes are generally dry valleys in a limestone or chalk escarpment. The term is commonly used in southwest England and in Wales.
