Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is a private Christian university-preparatory school, located in three separate locations throughout the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Its main campus (the "North Campus") is located in Symmes Township, near the intersection of Interstate 71 and Interstate 275; the elementary school and middle school facility is spearated by about one block. The Otto Armleder Memorial Education Center, which houses an elementary school, is located in downtown Cincinnati. Its goal is to reach inner-city children who often don't have an opportunity to learn under a college-prep curriculum.

CHCA is a non-denominational school, not affiliated with a particular church or religious group, though its religious teachings are primarily based in Protestant theology.

The school was founded, in large part by Cincinnati businessman Carl Lindner, Jr., in 1989 on a 25-acre plot of land. In its first year it enrolled 165 students in pre-kindergarten through seventh grade. It has since expanded to two elementary schools, one middle school, one highschool on three campuses and 1,434 students in 2005.

[edit] Edyth B. Lindner Elementary School

1992 saw the construction of the Edyth B. Lindner Elementary School adjacent to the original building. This elementary school enrolls pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, and restricted the original building to enrolling fifth through eighth grade.

In 1995, a highschool was constructed on a nearby 20 acre plot of land.

[edit] Otto Armleder Memorial Memorial Education Center

The school system purchased the historic Crosley Square Building in downtown Cincinnati to establish a school for inner-city students from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade. In March, 2006, Lindner announced a $16 million gift to the school which would allow the Armleder Center to add seventh and eighth grades to its current kindergarten-sixth grade offerings, and would also fund scholarships for some Armleder students to continue their college-prep education through high school at the main CHCA campus in Symmes Township.

Three of the four schools have been designated Blue Ribbon schools by the U.S. Department of Education, the Edyth B. Lindner elementary school in 1997, the highschool in 1999, and the middle school in 2003.

All students take Christian Studies courses. Through Eighth grade these are primarily devotional in scope, while the Highschool courses tend to be more exegetic and apologetic in scope.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy has participated in the Cincinnati chapter of the Cappies program for highschool theatre since the 2003/2004 school year. CHCA received the "Best Orchestra" award for both the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 school years, along with many nominations in other categories.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is well known for their spectacular achievements in the sporting arena. In the varsity High School athletics, guys soccer in 2004/2005 went to the state championships, losing 0-1 in the state final game at the Columbus Crew Stadium. Also in the same year, the baseball team went to the state championships, losing a close game in the state semifinal game. In 2005/2006, the guys football team went to the state finals, losing another close game. Beyond academics, CHCA has always excelled in every sport participated in and continuously produces league winning teams with numerous athletes that go to college on a sports scholarship.
