Chris Brown is the self-titled debut album of American R&B/pop singer Chris Brown, released on November 29, 2005 (see 2005 in music). It entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number two, selling more than 155,000 copies. As of November 2006, 1.6 million copies have been sold in the U.S. and over 3 million worldwide. It peaked at number one on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

The album's first single was "Run It!", which was produced by Scott Storch. It received substantial radio airplay (going to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart), and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for five weeks. It replaced "Gold Digger" by Kanye West, and was itself replaced by Mariah Carey's "Don't Forget About Us". It also topped Billboard's Pop 100 chart. The single's video was directed by Erik White. Other singles released from the album include "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)", another US top 10 hit for Brown, along with "Gimme That", which was released as a remix with rapper Lil' Wayne and the forthcoming single, "Say Goodbye" . According to the Billboard Hot 100, the single has so far peaked at #10.

Despite its moderate commercial success, Chris Brown's self titled album has received quite negative reviews. It received a 3/5 from All music guide, and a 2/5 from rolling stone

Brown stated that he had originally recorded fifty songs for the album and only about thirteen were chosen for the album. The rest would be used for movie soundtracks ("Which One" came from Usher's movie, In The Mix soundtrack) as well as for his sophomore album. Brown's singles have been given the remix treatment by some of the most acclaimed R&B / Hip Hop producers in the industry. The main remix of "Run It" was featured on his debut album, featured rapper Bow Wow and was produced by Jermaine Dupri. Yo (Excuse Me Miss) has recently spawned two official remixes, the first being the "DesertStorm Remix" produced by DJ Clue and featuring rapper Ransom of the A-Team; and the second remix being helmed by the Trackmasters and features rapper Red Café. Various un-official remixes exist online for this track. On February 28, 2006, the official remix to "Gimme That" leaked online which featured rapper Lil' Wayne. Blends of the Lil' Wayne mix existed earlier, but this official remix confirmed that earlier leaks were unofficial.
