Charlie Brooks (born 3 May 1981 in Barmouth) is a Welsh actress who starred in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders as Janine Evans (nee Butcher), from 1999 to 2004.
Before being cast in EastEnders she had appeared in The Bill, London's Burning, Jonathan Creek and The Demon Headmaster.
Since leaving EastEnders, she has appeared in ITV drama The Golden Hour, the 2005 BBC adaptation of Bleak House, and provided the voice of Mary Dixon for the BBC Radio adaptation, Dixon of Dock Green
She also played Beverley Allitt in a docu-drama about the murder of several children at Grantham Hospital on BBC1 in 2006.
Having recently had a child, she has now made an exercise video, entitled 'The Before and After Workout'. She has recently taken an evening class in AS English at nearby Kingston College. She lives in Thames Ditton.
Charlie also appeared as a guest star in BBC1's Casualty, playing Sally, the mum of a 10-month old baby boy (Daniel), who has breathing problems.
