Catahya

Catahya was originally a Swedish fantasy community, open to the general public since December 13, 2002. The website was originally made to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and to help newcomers.
The website was designed with the aim of making it easy for newcomers to share information, and give them the opportunity to turn to the forums with questions and to seek further advice. The page also contains articles and discussions. The site covers many things related to fantasy, including games, music, literature, live action role-playing game (LARP), movies, poetry, and writing.
In the summer of 2003, the management of Catahya decided to turn the virtual community of Catahya into an Non-governmental organization. With a more than 4-hour-long constitutional meeting on IRC, on September 7, the NGO was a fact. Catahya is affiliated to the organization Sverok (the Swedish Role Playing and Conflict Gaming Federation), and in January 2006 it had almost 2 500 members.
