Carmen Mesta

Carmen Mesta is a character in the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Marisa Ramirez played the role from June to October 2006.

Carmen worked as a Public Relations executive for Jabot Cosmetics, then for Newman Enterprises' cosmetic division, Beauty Of Nature, and had a liason with Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).
She had also made a rather harsh enemy in Neil's estranged wife, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell), culminating in Dru ransacking her room and cutting her clothing with scissors. Carmen was so shaken by this cruel attack that she had Drucilla arrested for aggravated burglary. The feud has continued, even going so far as Carmen turning over a videotape of Dru attacking her to the district attorney, thus having Dru fired from her job.
Neil has been helping Dru deal with this setback, and Carmen secretly seems to think that she got what she wanted. This irritates Neil, and he sees her for the calculating woman she really is.
Apparently, Carmen's history, as Paul Willliams (Doug Davidson) has found out; suggests that her feud with Dru is not the first time she has pulled this particular ruse on someone.
At her previous job, prior to her arrival in Genoa City, she had an affair with a married executive. This would have fired her, but she asked for a huge settlement, averting a sexual harassment suit at that company.
As a result of her hatred of Dru (and now, Neil, Devon (Bryton), and Lily (Christel Khalil)), she is now considered one of the most hated women at Newman.
Carmen was recently found dead after she went missing without a trace. Ironically, she was found outside of the jazz club Indigo by Neil, who had just opened it up for business and who she had encouraged to open up the club. Will Bardwell (Ted Shackleford), Genoa City's district attorney, of course, is unaware of all of Carmen's sordid past, only believing that she was an innocent victim.
Yet, with all the hard evidence that she had pulled this con before, this could very well torpedo the case.
