Calcinaia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pisa in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 50 km west of Florence and about 20 km east of Pisa. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 9,366 and an area of 15.0 km².[1]
The municipality of Calcinaia contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Fornacette, Oltrarno, Sardina, and Montecchio.
Calcinaia borders the following municipalities: Bientina, Cascina, Pontedera, Santa Maria a Monte, Vicopisano.
