[edit] The Humungous Image Tagging Project

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the invite; it's good to know that some liberals still exist in the States. Frekja 16:22, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your comment on my edit of a right-wing nutcase's entry.

Frankly, Wikipedia's "netrality" on criminals, propagandists, and other evil characters is rather less admirable than you seem to think it is. The article on Mao Tze-Tung, for example, completely fails to hold him culpable for the tens of millions of Chinese people that he killed through his policy of starvation as a means of political control. That's not an opinion, it's a FACT, and is only disputed by agents of the Socialist propaganda mill.

[edit] Aristoteles

Thank you for calling my attention to Louvre's Aristoteles. It looks great and I replaced the old one. Best Wishes, David Cruise 15:32, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging

Hello. I noticed you placed a lot of unsourced images (NS) at WP:IFD. To save you a bit of work, you can tag each image as {{db|This image is an orphan and it has no source. ~~~~}} so it will be deleted on the spot. No source/no license images can be speedy deleted after lasting a week on Wikipedia. It's something you should consider next time. Thanks again, Zach (Sound Off) 22:57, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi,

Please do not remove a blank space between italics and upright text. It is needed in some fonts.--Patrick 22:04, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] cycle graph disambiguation

hello Caesura. Regarding the cycle graph (algebra) page, you wrote (dab link not needed; no one would come to cycle graph (algebra) unless they wanted the algebra meaning, not the graph theory meaning). I am not sure this is the case. A mathematician would not need a disambiguation, but if a non-specialist googled "cycle graph" and happened to come to the (algebra) page first, they might think the story only went that far, having a disambiguation link costs very little and can be helpful to non-specialists. What do you think? Debivort 15:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: piccolo (coloratura)

the problem is while true piccolo coloratura is NOT a highly recognized term for a coloratura, a google search on the term would have actually yielded a few hits. Granted, the term is most notable because early literature for Minnie riperton reverred her as the "piccolo coloratura". Coloratura in pop music stuck. piccolo didn't. But its not a neologism or anything. I actually wished I had known about the prod. Now its gone and there's no chance of bringing it back. But think the reference on the disambig page should stay, its at least that notable.

It's no problem. I wished I had known about the prod, I could have defended the article (or tried anyway). anyway, bug all you want, its cool :-) Antares33712 16:15, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Works great for me. I did do the deletion review, but that may be enough for now. Antares33712 20:37, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hey Caesura,

Thanks for the welcome and the guidance on Wikipedia style.

I checked out your bio and was suprised to see you're also a Mac guy! Neat.

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for pointing me to WP:ORG. WP:CSD a7 says "If the assertion is disputed or controversial, it should be taken to AFD instead," so I took it to AFD where it was promptly speedied. To me it's not a big deal; it's just exasperating to be constantly refused when all I'm trying to do is get more input than {{db-club}}. --Spangineer[es] (háblame) 13:03, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AFD for Patriarchal marriage

You mentioned you were going to submit an AFD for Matriarchal marriage as well. There's a third article, Head of the household, by the same contributor. You might want to take a look at it and see if you think it should be AFD-ed as well. I think all three of them are rather loaded, POV articles that probably don't belong here. --Elkman - (Elkspeak) 15:37, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me - I've done most of them on the user talk pages, but for one batch of users I forgot to click talk. [edit] Re: User talk: Whonext360

I saw your communication to the IP 68.39.194.82 on its User talk page, that is just me on one of my computers. I am the user NIVINCo, and I just wasn't signed in at the time. Anyway the User Whonext360 is actually a friend of mine playing a joke. If I have any trouble with him vandalizing an article again and I cannot handle it myself, I will let you know. For the most part though I have already informed him that I will take action if he abuses Wikipedia again.

[edit] PhaseSpace

Do me the favor of figuring out what we do, and then I'll explain why you are interested. I'm a bit annoyed at being told by an english major and some punk music fans that we aren't significant, when I can't even explain what we do because they wouldn't understand. While you still might think we don't deserve to exist by the arcane rules here, until after we are obviously large enough that we no longer care about Wikipedia, you at least might grok iterated least squares with removal without your eyes glazing over. Tmcsheery 02:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm interested to note that you feel my repetition of their own descriptions is derogotory. I at least took the trouble to look up their user talk pages and find out what they did and what they described themselves as. I don't see that I made any comment on that being good or bad, but rather an opinion I think is justifiable that they might not understand Least Squares. I noted with enjoyment a 16 year old commenting on how another page I work on was poorly written, and instead of commenting on his age, fixed the page. Unfortunately I can't just list the company, or explain to people who don't understand what we even do, why this is likely the next generation of input device. Of course we can just wait a few years and find out.Tmcsheery 02:46, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

As I said, show me the rules and I'll figure a way to work within them. Thanks for the pointers. I don't expect this to be over, but of course I'll just keep adding a few of the publications each time someone objects and then see how long they really want to beat this dead horse. And note the 16 year old edited a lot more articles here than I have, and was right about the article being unweildy. I don't see his age as being an issue especially when he's right. Tmcsheery 03:28, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok so much for the rules. Someone just unilaterally deleted it. Sigh. Hard to argue when only one side follows the rules.Tmcsheery 18:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zidane Edit

"It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed content from Zinedine Zidane. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. —Caesura(t) 14:53, 17 July 2006 (UTC)"

If you check out the discussion page for the Zidane article, I actually did post a comment (under 'Zidane's act not contemptuous?'). I'll admit the Golden Ball stripping comes from a reliable source even though I don't believe it will happen. But, as the article states, the title-stripping is pure speculation from a German newspaper (if ESPNsoccernet fails to report something of that magnitude in the world of football, then I'm willing to believe it's not credible). I don't think either comment should be in the article, and I especially don't think the latter belongs due to its speculative nature. I hope this clears up the edit I made. I'm going to leave the Golden Ball comment in I guess. Thanks for the heads-up. -Nicklob 15:07, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm kind of new to Wikipedia. I originally signed up to edit some University of Toronto Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering and Lady Godiva Memorial Bnad pages and then got caught up in all this World Cup stuff. I'll make sure I post something on the talk page discussing the edit and I'll direct people to the discussion from the edit summary. Thanks for your help. -Nicklob 15:27, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Well I see the rules don't apply. I submitted references and apparently they are being ignored. Tmcsheery 22:02, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
