Caerhun

Caerhun is a rural community and former civil parish on the west bank of the River Conwy in Conwy (county borough) in North Wales to the south of Hendry and to the north of Dolgarrog.
It is identified with the Roman Fort of Canovium and the 14th century parish church of Saint Mary, which with its churchyard is built in the north-east quarter of the original Roman site by the river.
Canovium is at an ancient river crossing and was an important post on the Roman road and ancient drovers road via Bwlch-y-Ddeufaen to Abergwyngregyn and the Menai Strait. Latterly the best crossing point, now with a bridge, has been at near-by Tal-y-cafn.
