César de Oliveira

César de Oliveira (b. May 17, 1977, Porto) is a Portuguese composer.
Oliveira studied composition with Fernando Lapa at the Conservatório de Música do Porto from 1994 to 1997 and with Christopher Bochmann and António Pinho Vargas at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa from 1997 to 2001. He also attended the class of Klaas de Vries and also Peter-Jan Wagemans in Hoogeschool voor Muziek en Dans (Rotterdam). He attended masterclasses with Philippe Hurel, Helmut Lachenmann, Luis de Pablo, Emmanuel Nunes, Jorge Peixinho, and Salvatore Sciarrino.
His honours include an Honourable Mention in the Fernando Lopes Graça Composition Competition (2004).
