[edit] Career
After completing his studies in mathematics and physics in 1982, Brandenburg began programming 3D computer games on the Commodore 64 (C64), Apple II and later the IBM PC and Amiga.
Brandenburg started several technology companies that were later acquired by private and public corporations. In 1984, he co-founded Sculptured Software and lead the company as President. The company was eventually sold for almost USD$40 million after producing dozens of titles for the C64, Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, IBM PC and Apple II.
Between 1990 and 1994 Bryan Brandenburg was a manager at Symantec Corp. He managed the anti-virus lab, external developers and did technology acquisitions for the Peter Norton Group in Santa Monica. During this period he wrote the first security business plan for the company.
In 1994, Brandenburg started another game company, Software Arts International, and produced one of the first multiplayer game engines for the Internet. The company was acquired in 1996 by Engineering Animation, Inc., where he was the Executive Producer for the public company's Interactive Division, producing titles for Disney, Mattel, Hasbro and Sierra Online.
In 1999, Bryan Brandenburg partnered with Karl Malone to build a media centric outdoors media company with websites, television show, radio program, monthly magazine and a book publishing arm. The company was acquired in 2001.
Brandenburg was hired as the CEO of Zygote Media Group in January 2005. During his term, he refocused the business on scientific visualization and launched Male Anatomy Collection 2.0, the 3DScience.com website, Female Anatomy Collection 3.0 and Zygote Heart 3.0. He resigned from Zygote in April 2006 to form a new company focused on the science of human energy.
Brandenburg has published seven books, is a syndicated writer, keynote speaker and has been a key contributor to almost 40 award winning software products. Brandenburg is a co-founder of the Open 3D Project, a non-profit open source 3D model organization. He has been interviewed by Forbes, NY Times and is a guest on television and radio.
