Bolvangar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bolvangar is the place where Lyra Belacqua is taken with other children, in the Northern Lights novel by Philip Pullman. It is in the far north to keep it out the way of the public view.
As Bolvangar means fields of evil, the organization in charge of it, the General Oblation Board, calls it the experimental station, instead. Eventually all the children would have got their dæmon severed from them in order to prevent dust from fixing on them, but Lyra lets them out and leads them to the gyptian party that came to rescue them and bring them home.
