Blouberg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are two locations in South Africa called Blouberg. (The name literally means blue mountain). The first is a hill near Bloubergstrand, some 25km north of the central parts of Cape Town. The other lies hundreds of kilometres to the north, just past the western end of the Soutpansberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province, north west of the town of Vivo. (The former name for this district and adjacent areas was the Transvaal). Blouberg is home to some of the most spectacular rock climbing in South Africa. The area is famous for its big wall natural climbing with route lengths up to 350m.
