The Black-mandibled Toucan (Ramphastos ambiguus) is a native of the north of South America. His place spreads from the north of the Amazon forest up to the skirts of the Andes in Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.
It lives in the humid forests of the mountains. It demonstrates preference to the high stratum and the margins of the vegetation. One documents him from the 100 up to 2400 meters of elevation.
It feeds of fruits.
Of length it achieves from 47 to 61 cm. The peak measures approximately 18 cm.
