Bhilwara is a town in Mewar region of Rajasthan, India, 600 km from Delhi. It is the administrative seat of Bhilwara District.

This city is assumed to be the base of the Mugals when they attacked Chittor Garh. Chittor is where the Mugal Emperor married his wife.Coins called Bhilari were once minted in the city.

Bhilwara(bēlvä`rə) is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 421 metres (1381 feet).

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Bhilwara had a population of 280,185. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bhilwara has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 55%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The major industry is textiles, with more than 400 manufacturing units in the town. There is also a huge cloth market. The main textile product is synthetic fabric used in trousers.The city is a market for mica, grains, cotton, and wool. Its manufactures include textiles and metalware.

State Highway (Jaipur-Udaipur) passes through the district, as does a meter gauge railway line measuring 84 km and connecting Ajmer with Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh. The nearest airport is at Udaipur (171 km).

Besides popularity of Bhilwara for Textile industry, it has a strong base of cultural heritage.
Bhilwara is famous for following other things as well:
- Mica, mineral, one time this city was largest deposit of mica in the country. Later its deposits were all emptied.
- Art, great Artist like, Badri Lal Chitrakar, represents the city on international standards for Indian Miniature art.
- Gazak, famous sweet. It is made up of Til and famous around whole rajasthan.
- Bhilwara is the source of National Basketball team members. This city is considered to be the mine of basketball players. Great coaches like, Priyadarshi Diwakar are training players in the city.
- Harni Mahadev, famous tourist place in the city, is favourite tourist attraction centre.
- Gol Peao Chauraha is the main hub of market.
