No prizes for guessing where I'm proud to be from; my interests include (but aren't limited to) ancient and modern history (have a postgraduate degree in Egyptology), classic hollywood movies, modern technology, and breathtakingly aromatic arabica coffee. Mmmm, coffee!!
My username, Bezapt, is an Arabic language word meaning "exact(ly)" or "precise(ly)". The emphasis is on the second syllable. It's more fun if you say the ZAPT! part with some emphasis.
Why not visit the Egyptology Portal !
Oh, and I just found out about Bookmarklets - check them out.. really handy!
[edit] Projects
Of late, I seem to be drawn to the idea of writing biographical articles about famous Egyptologists. Recently, I was amazed to discover that Raymond O. Faulkner, whose books are consistently popular amongst students and scholars of ancient Egypt, seemingly had no biographical details up on the web at all (or at least none that I could quickly locate via a few internet search engines). Well at least I can say that that is now remedied! Below is a table of proposed forays into this area. I intend to complete this list in no particular order.
Egyptologist Biographies | |

Janet Gourlay | |
Elise Baumgartel | Robert Mond |
Aylward M. Blackman | James Henry Breasted |
Arthur Callender | Theodore M. Davis |
Ricardo Caminos | Heinrich Brugsch |
Walter Crum | Francis Llewellyn Griffith |
Naguib Kanawati | |
Hermann Grapow (tr) | Victor Loret |
Édouard Naville | |
William Loat | Boyo Ockinga |
Zaki Saad | Kurt Sethe |
Henry Westcar | Richard Vyse |
Zbyněk Žába | Herbert E. Winlock |
In this project I will be working alongside Wikipedian Markh, who also has a "missing Egyptologists" to-do list. I've also noticed that scientific journals of Egyptology seems to be a neglected area.. started working on this too.
