Ben.Carbonaro (born June 23, 1985) is an Italian-Australian statisician.

He has a great fondness for all things fashion, with a particular focus on the "metrosexual". An example of this is his much-maligned Dior sunglasses, his monobrow, extremely tight jeans cutting off circulation to the groin area (there are persistent rumours that he has a well developed form of "scrot-rot") as well as his enviable collection of Havaianas thongs. He also has a somewhat bizarre and unexplained perversion towards all things deaf-related, perhaps due to the fact that he was once going steady with a deaf chick.

Sadly, Ben no longer sports the pink "faux-hawk" that was so defining. Many a time Ben has been stopped on the street, recognised by his styling threads, haviana's, and pink mo-hawk.

He was the star of possibly the greatest and most legendary thread in the history of BigFooty; the aptly named "Ask Ben".

While Ben has many, many fans, few have actually met him in person. It is a goal that we all wish to achieve at some point in our lives.

In pictures, Ben's eyebrows appear to follow you around the room. In this sense, Ben is Rasputin-like. In other senses, however, he most certainly is not.

Many think Ben to be the Messiah. However, his mother, Mumma Carbonaro, has scotched this. "He's not the Messiah," she said, "he's just a very naughty boy!"

Rumours abound that Ben has somewhat of an... interesting past. A number of photos have recently surfaced that appear to cast doubt on Ben's claim to be a mere statistician. The below image surfaced after the reunification of Germany, following the downfall of the Berlin Wall:

"I'm an aspiring sports journalist and am currently studying Professional Writing & Editing at RMIT with a view to completing a journalism degree. Sport plays a big part in my life and I don't think you will ever be able to take sport away from me no matter what I am doing or where I am in the world."

Nicknames include Ben.C, Carbo, Ben from Sunbury, as per his continous contributions to the World Sport Overnight program on Melbourne radio station SEN 1116, "yours truly" and C-Banger. Ben also likes to roam online under the witty alias of 'benny_c'.

A controversial issue with regards to Ben has always been his sexuality, which has boiled over into some ugly disputes. Proponents of the "Ben is gay" school of thought have long suggested that his love of fashion and netball predisposes at least some degree of homosexuality, but others have put this down to Ben just being a bit odd.

Since finding an interest in the Vogue Australia forums, Benny has become a strong advocate of men's fashion. Sometimes dubbed 'gay', sometimes metrosexual, Benny has a great fondness for skinny leg jeans in bright or patterned colours. His preferred skinny leg jeans are by the brands Material Boy and Krew. He likes to dress these up with Dior Ski 1 sunglasses, bright t-shirts and suspenders. In Summer he will usually wear Havaianas thongs, but for Winter he is opting for cowboy boots.

Benny also enjoyed wearing the uniform for the Commonwealth Games volunteers, and was suprised at how well made and hardy the Hard Yakka pants were.

Ben has been a statistician firstly during the 2003 season for the Rupertswood Football Club, and since 2005, a statistician for the Werribee Football Club.

Ben is a noted columnist on sports such as netball, Pura Cup and Australian rules football on SportsAustralia. He has also covered swimming.

In 2006, Carbonaro was involved as a volunteer for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He helped lay the floor of the basketball arena and faced a dilemma where he was worried that he would received only one shirt as part of his uniform package.

In June 2006, Ben celebrated his 21st birthday and also joined the online forum Hacksawed where he has become a treasured member.
