Barbara Gaskin

Barbara Gaskin is a British singer who, with her musical partner Dave Stewart, formed the duo 'Stewart & Gaskin' in 1980. They had a Number One hit in both the UK and Germany with a cover version of the song "It's My Party" in 1981. In 1983 they also released "Busy Doing Nothing", and later still in 1986 "The Locomotion". Although both singles made entries in the UK singles chart, neither reached the heights of their debut release.
Earlier, Gaskin was also a lead vocalist in a British folk-prog band Spirogyra between 1969 and 1974. She subsequently sang backing vocals in Stewart's band Hatfield and the North.
