Ariane (actress)

Ariane (born in Hanford, California) is a Japanese American actress. She is sometimes also credited as Ariane Koizumi.
Her most notable film appearance is her starring in Michael Cimino's 1985 film Year of the Dragon. Ariane played the role of Chinese American television reporter Tracy Tzu who fells in love with racist cop Stanley White played by Mickey Rourke.
However, Ariane received two Razzie nominations as Worst Actress and Worst New Star for her performance. Year of the Dragon received five Razzie nominations altogether with also Michael Cimino and screenplay writer Oliver Stone getting their share. The film was also sharply criticized for providing offending stereotypes about Chinese Americans.
