Lord Duulket Ariakas was a great warrior, evil mage, and the leader of the Dragonarmies of Ansalon during the War of the Lance in the fictional series of Dragonlance novels. He was handsome and tall, with long black hair. It was thanks to his brilliant strategies that the Dragonarmies did as well as they did in the War of the Lance, and they may have succeeded under those plans had it not been for the intervention of the Heroes of the Lance.

Ariakas witnessed the murder of his mother by his own father, who was a cleric of Takhisis. Ariakas began to study to become a warrior, and when he could, he avenged his mother's death by killing his father. In order to protect himself, Ariakas started rumors surrounding his father's death. All this led to Takhisis taking favor in him. Some few years later, Takhisis appeared to him and granted him great power on the sole condition that any woman he made love to would die in a year's time. Later, Takhisis would supllement his great physical power with dark magic. After gaining much power and aiding in the early days of creating draconians, Zeboim came to Ariakas and she became pregnant with his son, future leader of the Knights of Takhisis, Ariakan.
Later, Ariakas began to form the Dragonarmies, and when they split into five armies with a Highlord at the head of each, he was made superior over all five and called himself the Emperpor of Ansalon. He had already ammassed some territory for his Queen by this time.
[edit] The War of the Lance
Ariakas began the attack with the Red and Green Wings taking Nordmaar, followed by the Blue Wing taking New Sea and Schallsea. Ariakas personally promoted Kitiara Uth Matar to Highlord when the Blue Wing's leader was killed. Next, he secured Khur, and shortly after he invaded Silvanesti, which led to Lorac's Dream wreaking havoc in Silvanesti. He ordered the armies to halt for a time to resupply, and in a year he invaded even more regions. The Highlords of the Red and White wings were killed in that year of campaigning, both at the hands of the Companions, which led to the promotion of Toede to Highlord and Ariakas leading the Red Wing personally. After Kitiara was beaten at the High Clerist's Tower and Toede was slain, Ariakas called a council of the Highlords together at Neraka, where he was killed by Tanis Half-Elven.
