Alex Heberling, also known by the online aliases Areku and Arekuchan, is a college student and amateur sequential artist from Toledo, OH. She graduated from E. L. Bowsher High School in Toledo in 2004, and has been attending Ohio State in pursuit of a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Alex is an enthusiast of all sorts of geekery, included but not limited to anime, Lord of the Rings, Adult Swim, and webcomics. In early 2005, she started her first online comic, Jigworthy, with two of her friends as writers, because all in all, Alex's sense of humor is rather pallid. Recently, Alex has started a second comic, Garanos, as a summer project. Garanos is a gothic fantasy story, written during her senior year of high school, and that which she has intended to put into comic form for quite awhile. Ironically, Alex dislikes most webcomics of the fantasy genre.
