Andy Lee (comedian)

Andy Lee (born May 24, 1981) is an Australian comedian. Andy studied Commerce at the University of Melbourne where he met comedic partner Hamish Blake, with whom he hosted the short lived comedy program Hamish & Andy on Australia's Seven Network, .

Before this, Andy appeared with Hamish, Ryan Shelton and Duncan Campbell on Channel 31's Radio Karate, and had various spots on the radio stations FOX FM and 3SYN 90.7. Currently he is a regular on ABC music trivia program Spicks and Specks and shares the Fox FM Drive Time program with Hamish Blake. Andy also appeared on the Channel 10 program Australia's Brainiest Comedian, becoming the first person ever to not answer any questions correctly in a round (TV), and with Hamish Blake has developed a new television program named Real Stories, which satirises other Australian news shows such as A Current Affair. This is made under the guidance of Rove McManus.

Andy also won the first series of Joker Poker, a Network Ten production which pits four comedians up against each other in a game of No Limit Texas Hold 'Em Poker for charity.

He is also a founding member of popular Melbourne band Zoophyte, along with his brother Cameron Lee. Andy sings, plays guitar, djembe, didgeridoo, synth, trumpet and whatever else the occasion calls for.

Andy is also mates with Ed Kavalee, one of the co-hosts of Triple M's Get This program. Because they are on rival radio networks, when ever Ed mentions him on air he refers to him as Mr. X

In September of 2006, Andy won the Bachelor of the Year Award from the women's magazine CLEO, beating out other celebrities such as footballers, radio hosts, actors, and TV show presenters. From Andy's win, Hamish had previously put a bet down for $860 (that he had been saving to go on a holiday with his girlfriend) and won $12,900. Now the two are investing in a greyhound named Fred Bassett, who was discovered to be psychic. Fred chose to race instead, however, and after his first failure he won twice in a row. Then on November 11th, Fred raced in Perth to a crowd of about 6000 people (even with his own 'Basset Army' in homage to the 'barmy army'). Unfortunately, Fred couldn't overcome number 8 and finished in 4th place. Dissapointing as Mike Whitney and Shane Warne had recently come on the Hamish and Andy show to encourage Fred's 'hat trick'.
