[edit] Synopsis
Raj (Akshay Kumar) and Kaajal (Lara Dutta) are inseparable childhood friends who have stood by each other throughout their lives. Raj's affection changes towards Kaajal and he falls in love with her. They both share a dream that Raj will join the air force and become a pilot. Raj soon becomes a pilot and asks Kaajal to marry him.
Unfortunately, his proposal came late as she tells him that she has fallen in love with businessman Karan Singhania (Aman Verma). Raj, heartbroken, puts on a brave face for the wedding; but he cracks. He leaves his home to go to South Africa for a training programme.
Raj comes across Jiya (Priyanka Chopra), a lively, beautiful young girl who is smitten by the officer. She pursues him back to his home and eventually breaks through his shell. He opens up to her and falls in love with her. They eventually decide to marry.
Raj goes to meet Jiya's family but, to his shock, he sees his friend Kaajal trying to kill herself. Jiya's brother turns out to be Karan himself. Fate brings them together again, but will Raj be able to fight his feelings for Kaajal?
